JOB STATUS:

Part-time (Shifts range from 3.5 - 4 hours.  Shifts are as follows: 5:45 am- 9:30 am, 9:30 am -1:00 pm, and 1:00 pm -5:00 pm.  On weekdays the closing shift is 4:30 pm -7:45 pm.  All shift times are subject to change at the discretion of management.)

 

Purpose of the Position:

To supervise the safety and well-being of all pool participants in and around the pool area, maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility, attend in-service training classes, and maintain adequate swimming/fitness ability.  Build a positive relationship with members by meeting their needs as appropriate.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safety of all members
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service through greeting members, answering questions, and providing a friendly environment  
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by completing all maintenance tasks as scheduled or instructed  
  • Check and record all pool readings every two hours
  • Be familiar will all emergency procedures and perform necessary tasks in case of emergency
  • Promote all Atlantic Club programs and activities
  • Arrive to work on time and work scheduled shifts (Find coverage if unable to work)
  • Attend all staff trainings and meetings
  • Keep updated on all department activities and functions
  • Keep all certifications current
  • Relay necessary information regarding equipment, safety, and clients to your supervisor
  • Be able to swim the 500-meter continuously 
  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the facility management
  • Enforce all facility rules, regulations, and policies
  • Respond to all facility emergencies when available
  • Always maintain a professional and clean appearance  
  • Wear the required uniform during each shift 

Qualifications:

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Must be able to swim 500-meters 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Required:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

  • First Aid

  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer 

Physical Demands:

JOB SUMMARY

The Personal Trainer's purpose is to build a client base that contributes to departmental revenues by maintaining an existing client base, marketing programs and services, and utilizing the highest quality of customer service when working a floor shift or training clients.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Demonstrate a personal commitment to meeting the needs of members and guests

·      Perform a customer service role by assisting members with their exercise programs, encouraging members to reach their fitness and wellness goals, and handling member concerns and complaints quickly and effectively

·      Demonstrate correct/safe use of all weight and cardiovascular equipment when working a floor shift, training private clients, or conducting small groups

·      Set up all equipment for personal training clients

·      Ensure safety of all members, clients, guests; monitor safe operation of all fitness equipment

·      Follow department SOP's for reporting equipment issues and placing out of order signage

·      In addition to customer service, floor trainers are responsible for maintaining and cleaning fitness floor and equipment

·      As an appointment trainer, follow all SOP's as outlined in department training manual

·      Comply with company policies re: member/client billing and submittal of payroll data

·      Maintain required certifications and attend trainings

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

·      Must have a minimum of two years of education in the field of exercise science or a related field and at least two years' experience in a similar position; or a Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a combination of education and experience

·      Nationally recognized personal training certification (NSCA, ACE, NASM, ACSM preferred. Other certifying bodies and/or specialty certifications will be considered.)

·      Must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

·      Must be able to physically demonstrate proper usage of equipment, including weights of 25 – 50 lbs.    While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with arms and hands; and hear or talk.
